If your API key has no balance or quota left, alt texts simply won’t be generated. But don’t worry — your existing images and site will still work just fine. Once you refill your key, generation resumes as normal.

Yes! In most cases, the alt tags are only applied in the frontend during page rendering — they’re not saved back into the media library. The one exception: featured images (thumbnails). For security and compatibility reasons, we do write the alt tag into the media library there. If you want to verify it’s working, open your site in a browser, right-click on an image, choose “Inspect” and check the img alt="..." tag directly in the HTML.
